Croton (Codiaeum variegatum) is a bold, tropical shrub known for its brilliantly colored foliage in shades of red, yellow, orange, green, and even purple. Its leathery, glossy leaves come in a variety of shapes, and it makes an excellent focal point in landscapes or as a container plant in warm climates. Crotons prefer humidity and bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sun.
